Christmas Markets in London

Who knew?  London has Christmas Markets!

There’s only a few but they’ll certainly liberate any cash you have in your wallet.

Here’s my picks:

Southbank Christmas Market.  Ok, so the website seems to go out of it’s way to be underwhelming but for sheer location and atmosphere, this is my favourite.  It’s small and cosy and right by the river, at night the setting is drop dead gorgeous.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.  More of a theme park than a Christmas Market but it does have retail, along with rides, a circus and an ice skating rink.  The setting in Hyde Park make a visit a must.  It’s free to get in and rides cost £3 (by tokens) and they have a Father Christmas!

Camden Lock Christmas Night Market.  They’re having a Christmas Night Market every Thursday night.  The setting is gorgeous and is well worth a visit.

St Katharine Docks Winter Wonderland.  Open on Fridays only, it’s a very small market but in a lovely area and worth a wander.  They’ve even got carollers in the afternoon.  The list of the stalls is here.

Try to make time to nosey through at least one of them – they may not be traditional in any sense of the word but they’re still worth a visit.
