Well, what a 12 months it’s been!

(this was originally posted on Alexia’s MySpace page back in 2007 but since it looks like MySpace will be closing it’s doors soon I’m rescuing the posts I can find and putting them here)

Tomorrow will be one year since the gallery opened.  My, doesn’t time fly?  🙂

Since then I’ve moved site and expanded, been sidetracked from sculpture into erotica and other bits, have had highs, lows and all up had an interesting time.  I even had someone ‘borrow’ the idea of one of my pieces for their own use..  they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

For the last couple of months I’ve been debating whether to close it, redesign it or just leave it as it is.  So far laziness has won out

I’ve met some lovely people through this adventure. It’s been worth that fall down the rabbit hole.  I’ve even set up a rl gift shop for the gallery at Cafe Press,  the bits i have for sale there look pretty cool in rl.  I use my carrierbag when i go shopping, drink my coffee out of a mug with me splashed over it (and got so excited that I made some copies for inworld ) and even have the calendar on my wall.  They look pretty cool I tell you.  I was amazed at how excited i was when they turned up and seriously impressed with how they looked (except for the tshirt..  unfortunately the logo didn’t seem to go well on it).

I’ve also started to build miscellaneous things inworld..  I have another shop called NDC (Neoteric Design Co-operative – a bit of a mouthful!) where i sell stuff that just doesn’t fit the art category. It’s looking a bit sparse at the moment as I have a bundle of items to put there, but it requires me to not be distracted by other things  here are a couple of the slurls if you’re interested in having a look inworld at what I’ve been doing:

It’s sounding like a bit of self promotion, but I’m still seriously chuffed at how this has gone..  I never really expected this to happen when I first thought about doing this..  I look back and am amazed at what an optimistic newbie i was  lolIf you want to give me feedback – good or bad – on what you see, send me a note either here on inworld.  I love hearing what people think of the art.. It’s designed to elicit a reaction.. and no, it’s not OTT.  With this you need to pay attention.

I might even have a party next weekend to celebrate the opening..  after 12 months it is time I had that opening bash I never got around to…  possibly..
